In a previous life as an Operations Project Manager, Joe put his intense curiosity to work to learn the many different ways complex businesses can operate as efficiently as possible. A background in the vast and complicated construction industry made Joe comfortable managing multimillion dollar projects with 50+ team members under his supervision. He soon discovered the importance of producing reliable results at manageable costs.
With an entrepreneurial and competitive spirit, Joe brought this experience to Chowly as the start-up’s first hire. As a first-of-its-kind service, Chowly has required experimentation with many different modes of operation. Joe has led this iterative process to create the efficient and scaleable model that clients have come to depend on. He has since built and managed the Operations team to support this model with an atmosphere of structure, collaboration, and result driven processes.
When it comes to building something from scratch, Sterling thrives in environments defined by ambiguity. Constructing models and putting together processes where they’ve never been before is where he excels.
Beginning his career deep in data analytics as an actuary gave him the foundation to grow. Transitioning into account management allowed him to understand both the technical and business sides of the deal.
Sterling is a natural at bringing people together, and his ability to develop and grow a team is unparalleled. With a focus on lean start-ups he takes challenges head on, and doesn’t let any obstacle stand in his team’s way.
Jim comes to Chowly Inc. with a strong background in Restaurant Operations, Business Mgmt. and Sales. Jim became Chowly’s first employee due to his strong belief in Chowly’s mission, to help merchants navigate the technology solutions of today while increasing their bottom line and decreasing their employee frustrations. A graduate of Michigan State University in Food Systems, Economics, and Mgmt., Jim is perfectly suited and adept to increase new partnership opportunities. Jim’s favorite quote, “remember, everyone you meet knows at least one thing you don’t.” Listen, learn, and grow.
Brian has over 12 years in the restaurant industry beginning his career in college working every job from dishwasher to server. After graduating from Purdue University Brian went on to work in food and beverage consulting focusing on international chains and consumer products manufacturing for such companies as Hilton and Revolution Foods. During his time in consulting Brian focused on creating efficiencies by utilizing technology. Brian’s background paved the way to multiple tech startups including Chowly. Brian now serves as co-founder and board member for Chowly Inc. and is primarily focused on business development, sales and marketing.
